New rug...

...added to the dining room. got it for christmas, but have been waiting to get the carpets professionally cleaned (due to the large amount of rescue dogs that i've had in my house in the last year that weren't all potty trained it desperately needed it. gotta love them though...shelter dogs are the best :)) before i put it down. it's really simple, but most importantly durable. i think it looks great, very happy with the addition.

Shelves...

...are decorated. i'm sure they will change in the next couple months, but its a start. like the rest of the room, i made sure to add a lot of color, as well as old, new & family items. it's a special room for a special little girl, so it needs to feel like that :)

Pillow...

...in the works. i got this black/white pillow from ikea for the nursery & decided it was like a coloring book that needed a little color between the lines. sooo, i hand stitched around the flowers & leaves to make them pop. trying to decide on a contrasting fabric possibly for the back & maybe some trim.

Sneak peak...

...of a couple cute things in prep for the baby party. i also got an adorable little hat in the mail this weekend from etsy. my mom & i came up with a lot of fun ideas & she is bringing them to life. couldn't ask for a more amazing mom, i hope i can be half as wonderful as her! she is so crafty, loving, thoughtful, always willing to help anyone in need while keeping a smile on her face & has been that way my whole life, not only to her family but to everyone she meets...just wish more people would return the favor of kindness & respect to her instead of taking advantage of her giving nature & sweetness. one of the reasons i will always be extremely protective of her, she's very special & more than ever can't wait for her to share in the joy & happiness with ms. m's arrival :)

Weekend projects...

...kept me busy. had dog stuff to do saturday, like get mr. luigi a much needed haircut :), but was able to complete a couple things. i finished ms. m's cute banner for her party. the colors will match the rest of her party decor perfect. then i dressed up this basic black remote holder that i purchased from ikea to hang over her rocking chair for small, easy to access storage for when i'm feeding her & don't want to get up. it's all coming together, so much fun already...

Final decision...

...on the mobile. decided to return the PB Kids one, it was too large for the room & too traditional. this themis mobile from the MOMA store was better, love geometric & the combo of colors. it looks amazing in the room i think, next to ms. m's frilly curtains it adds contrast & pulls color from the pictures on the opposite wall. it was a bit of a pain to assemble, but will be fun for her to look at while she's on the changing table, which i know will be quite often :)

Garden & crafts...

...this weekend. started working on the banner for ms. m's baby shower, as well as the cupcake toppers. it's funny that i'm making things for my own party, but i enjoy all this crafty stuff so might as well make it since it's for my daughter now :) i also got flowers planted on the patio & my herbs-parsley, rosemary & chives are growing back from last year. had to replant the basil & will also add some mint & cilantro. it was a productive, but relaxing weekend, so nice for a change.
