We are waiting...

...for you baby m. jeff & i & the puppies can't wait, but we are trying to be as patient as possible. once you're here, angelo needs you to learn, as quickly as possible, how to throw the ball to him. luigi has requested lots more belly rubs. joey is keeping your rocking chair warm & insists on sharing the stroller with you because he's tired of going on long walks with us. 16 more weeks to go :) we are all going to have so much fun together, see you soon...

Last weekend...

...was filled with dog rescue, but below are a few cute things that have been going on. the 'm' will go on the front of a handmade, interactive book that my mom is making for ms. m. the addition of the beautiful ruffled curtains made her room definitely look like a little girl's. the chalkboard will be used to document monthly milestones for her, reminded me of a thought bubble :) & found this matisse to add to the dining room, much better. more dog rescue & other cute happenings to come...

Fun weekend...

...with jeff's mom, sis & niece in town. we did a lot of shopping, eating & hanging out which is always a good time. i also ordered this book about making messes into pretty works of art, my mom finished this amazing crib skirt for baby m's bed, jeff & i decided on this lighter weight, butterfly mobile instead of the owls (the owls will find their home elsewhere in the room) & ordered a couple cute items from the new dvf line at gap kids. this is all fun stuff, but the real joy will come when little m is here to turn the two of us into a family of three :)

The adorable toy cart...

...is complete :). i love this little toy basket so much & it turned out just the way i imagined it would. it was one of the first items my mom & i got when i found out i was pregnant. i've always wanted a toy basket on wheels so my child could pull her stuff around wherever she wanted. we found the wire crate at a local antique store, cleaned it up, had my step dad add wheels & then i attached the strips of fabric piece by piece to soften it up. then added all of little ms. m's stuffed animals (including my teddy that i've had since i was born) & voila...a cute as can be unique mobile toy cart that i know will be used for years to come. it means a lot to have this time to make special handmade gifts for my little girl to be, just like i know my mom did for me :)

A few more...

...projects this weekend. not only did we get the garage completely cleaned out & organized (thank you jeff!) but i got quite a few art projects done. i made a couple more little headbands for ms. m with ribbon my mom had given me & attachable felt flowers. i stitched a couple onesies & added crocheted appliques i had gotten awhile back, now she'll have something to go with her yellow crocheted booties :) i made a piece of art to go on her wall with a sweet quote, 'this is the start of your sweet little story, where your page meets mine, no matter where your tale takes you, our story will always read love'. & i finished the lovely art wall. i love all the color, it's such a happy room :)

Creating...

...an alternative to the huge bow for little ms. m. sooo, i decided to put together a couple fabric flower headbands for her so when she gets here she'll have something to go with her cute outfits. i got the fabric flowers, attached alligator clips to the back & then clipped them to the headbands (not a huge fan of the thick headbands, but will have to do until i find thinner ones) voila, now she has a variety of flowers & bands to switch around depending on the outfit. they can also be clipped in her hair without the band once her hair gets longer. love how they turned out & why pay more for something you can make yourself :)
